Welcome to the world of moving, my fellow couch potatoes. So glad you could make it. Sit down and take a load off, we wouldn't want to rush into things.
I am the author of two books about various ways one can get off their butts. The first way I moved was running, the second cycling. Both involved spandex and rashes in unfortunate areas. And both opened my eyes to a whole different world. (A world that doesn't involve nearly as much Taco Bell as my old world, unfortunately.)
I call this site Dream in Motion because I think that's what both of my books come down to - having a dream of doing something insane and then putting your body in motion to achieve your dream. But that's just the obvious part. There's much more to it than that.
One of the biggest benefits I've found in tackling physical challenges (besides developing an unnatural affinity for the texture of PowerBars) is the mental strength you gain as you are gaining physical strength. And that mental strength is what you take with you for years to come, long after you've gone back to your recliner (and Taco Bell).
For me, as soon as I started to put my body in motion I also started to put other things in motion as well. Instead of talking about all the things I wanted to do with my life, I just started doing them. It was a simple, but sorta profound, shift in the way I tackle everything.
So this site is about putting all of your dreams in motion, whether that motion is literal or metaphorical. I hope the books I've written inspire you on both levels. Because what's the point of dreams if you aren't going to put them in motion? Look at us! All deep and whatnot!
Go ahead and explore this site to find out more about the books, other merchandise, me and the world in general...happy trails.

Me:
My name is Dawn Dais and I am a writer and graphic designer from Sacramento, California. I wrote a book in 2007 about moving your butt (via marathoning) and then I moved my butt around the country to promote it.
Then in 2008 I embarked on another butt-moving adventure, this time on the back of a bike. Again, I chronicled my (mostly humorous) tales for the sake of others' entertainment and education. My new book, "The NonCyclist's Guide to the Century and Other Road Races" is out now and it's fully prepared to inspire you to greatness once again.
